From the Margins to the Center

A podcast incubator for women of color

In 2019, From the Margins to the Center was the first podcast incubator of its kind in Denver, Colorado, and in 2020 we held our second successful program.

This six-week program took place at House of Pod in Denver, Colorado during the months of June and July. The program included keynote sessions with  Juleyka Lantigua-Williams, who founded an independent production company, and with Jennifer White, a veteran of public radio formerly at WBEZ in Chicago now the host of NPR talk show, 1A. Participants attended weekly workshops and received a one-year membership to the House of Pod recording studio with access to drop-in sessions. Additionally, participants were paired with local leading women of color producers as their mentors.

Following the incubator, promising producers, as selected by the AMPED Board, will be eligible for sponsorship to support the first season of their podcast. The incubator will be free for all participants, and childcare during each class will be included.
